The Lifeskills curriculum—the philosophical foundation of PALS—is based on sound theory of how children develop, as well as the most recent research on how children learn how to learn.
Starting with infants to preschool aged children, our unique curriculum includes elements of various renowned child development theories, such as Jean Piaget's cognitive development, Erik Erickson's stages of personality and social development, David Weikert's active learning theory and highly acclaimed High Scope preschool program, Don Holdaway's foundations of literacy, Brian Cambourne's conditions of learning, Howard Gardner's multiple intelligence theory, and Dr. Becky Bailey's Conscious Discipline backed by brain research.
We have strengthened this focus on development and learning by combining it with elements from a number of positive motivational programs, from Tony Robbins' to Walt Disney's, which introduce core beliefs and values shared by successful individuals worldwide. The overall goal of PALS' Lifeskills approach to learning is to provide the complex mix of knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, values and skills that will enable your child to thrive in contemporary life – so your child will get the most out of his or her child care experience.
